first field trip!

This little big kindergartner had his first field trip at school today. He was so excited and to think he almost had to miss it because he got the flu at the beginning of the week.
But here we I am mentally getting ready for his venture to this city without me.
I.d. written inside his shoe. check
Brightest shirt I could find in his closet on him. check
reviewed any safety info I could think of with him. check
And in the end once the day was over he was safe and sound and back with us where he belongs.
I know...I know. But he is my first born.

Not to be left out

Birdie

This is Birdie.
She found us  three years ago this week by walking down our sidewalk.
We think she probably flew out of her original home, got caught up in the wind storm that was/ is always happening around here and got sent our way via wind current.
She quickly became a favorite member of our family.
At the time I had zero knowledge of how to take care of a bird.
Three years later and I still have zero knowledge.
She doesn't care.

She just wants to hang out with this cute ketchup faced boy

And he is totally ok with that.

The youngest member of the family is not so OK with it.
She'll get there. Hopefully.

Happy new home birthday Birdie, bird!

crazy things will happen...

I can't believe I've been away from my Internet home for a week.
But once the kiddos start getting sick everything else gets put aside so loads of throw up towels, pillows, and blankets can be dealt with.

Speaking of a week ago we had a great St. Patty's day get together until I should have listened to little miss Molly when she said she wanted to go. Because this  happened next

my middle Irish child took it took the next level and cut her hair...actually her friend cut her hair and Emilie cut her friends hair and another friends hair. I should have listened to her when she said she wanted bangs.
awesome...

We still aren't sure who did this...

Thank God my friends are awesome AND understanding :-)

A couple of things...

Here are a few lot of things that are making me happy this week....
Little's happy to see their daddy home.

kiddos loving their Light brite.
I have so many great memories as a kid playing with my giant light brite.

One more sticker!!
Except Emilie deserves some praise too. She is the one that read Molly books and sang her songs to get her to stay on her potty.

Anything with spinach and mushrooms

This article on procrastination
Which I would have read if I wasn't a champion procrastinator.

And this chart that is in the article. Which I needed to fix for myself

Lamps that double as shelves in my laundry room

Sisters that are becoming best friends

and wouldn't be this cute if they knew I was watching them :-)

Hmmmmm....I wonder what special day Thursday is?

We even left a little something for a little dude. I know, I know why would we leave something out for a leprechaun. Why not? Its fun!

While the big kids were getting ready for bed up stairs this little one was down stairs helping herself to this treat.

Now go on and have an awesome St. Patty's day!
And drink a few beers too.

just another manic Monday

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday ......

hmmmmmm what's my funday? What's my I don't have to run day.
I would have to say that the Monday I spent in Alabama was my first non runday in a long time.

but this Monday was spent taking care of  this little boy and his sad tummy.
By the end of the day he seemed to be back to 100% except for for being crazy tired.

This book he is coloring is awesome! We got it at Walmart, which is a store we only go to after 9 am and before 10 am. I'm just say-in, their prices are great but the co shoppers aren't always so great in the Covington area.

when I asked him what picture he wanted on the cover he said "the one Jen took of me and my sisters"
and then Emilie quickly said "and I want to use the one of JUST me."
They are soooooo different!

The cover is blank and the pages have lines for the story and a spot for the pictures.

If you ever see one of these boxes it is totally worth getting!!

On another subject. Things that have made my life easier:
Pancake and waffle batter in pour-able containers.
Lately when I make either of these things I've been doubling the amount and keeping the extra in these containers. That way we can have either of them every morning.

Behavior and chore charts:
these actually worked great. I suck at charts! But my kids thrive on them. and the kiddos keep me in line. Believe it or not we actually completed a whole week and the kids did great!

Molly does have one chore and she has been doing so-so. Her chore is picking up shoes. That little girl pulls out shoes all day long and leaves them laying around everywhere.

Last but not least is Molly's potty chart. Right out of the gate she did awesome. But this is were we stand. One lonely sticker. Come on Molly you can do it!!

Happy Monday to all!! Unless you get this in your E-mail, happy Tuesday!
St. Patrick's day is in just a few days! what kind of crazy plans do you have brewing??

It's crunch time!

Doug is coming home tomorrow after being gone for 6 weeks and I still have a ton to do. The house, car and yard is trashed. I started a bunch of projects when he left and I've left most of them half done. (kinda like the banister ,Doug.)
example #1
Car
Doug would say that it is always trashed but in my defense we are in the car a ton and once we get home the last thing I want to do is clean out my car. What I want to do is get inside where Molly is caged in by 4 walls.
Anyway, join me for a little tour of my car before I spent an hour gutting it out.

We even took the car to a car wash the next day.
Molly wasn't to sure about that
(sorry about the awesome quality of my phone picture)

I would show my other examples:
trashed house,
yard full of dog poo that needs picked up
and a garage that needs to be dealt with
but I need to focus and get to work

Wish me luck!
